Got a glimpse of the new Dharma Station Logo at the end of a video from ABC, specifically from Damon and Carlton, talking about the book club.
It flashed on for a second. Very interesting. I’ve got a couple theories brewing. Has anyone else seen it?

ABC has posted a trailer for 5th season of Lost. (Yes, this is about a week old, but new to me!)
Enough to get the Lost cobwebs dusted off and start to get excited about the new season. Which is still a ways away. You’ll see that it’s returning to the air ‘early 2009′! I’ll take what I can get. I’m hoping this means after the “Big Game”.
And, just in time for the Holiday’s Lost season for will be released December 9, 2008.
What’s also fun is the Lost Bookclub on ABC’s Lost site. I’ve got my reading list. Will any of you spend time reading some of these books?
Wanted to put a poll up, but something doesn’t seem to be working at the moment. I’ll get a new post on the book club by itself with a new poll when I get it straightened out.
I’m am indulging on my nostalgic feelings by reliving my childhood viewing of Knight Rider with the new Knight Rider series. The important thing here is not to be critical. Enjoy the good ( I like a lot of it), embrace the cliche, and most important cherish every bit of dialog.
Also, KITT can change into an F150 and jump with turbo boost!
CAUTION: NERD ALERT
Now, here’s the real reason of this post. If any episode from the original season was to be remade here, which would you pick?
Here’s mine, Goliath Returns Pt. 1. The return of M. Knights arch-nemesis Garth and the super-semi Goliath. A truck so fearsome that KITT fears him. Obviously a arch-nemesis that looks like the new Michael Knight will have to be introduced somehow, but if they can write in a KITT stand still turbo boost jump over parked cars then anything can be done.
If you were psychic you would know how awesome the show Psych is. But since you’re probably not, let me tell you it is great. (that’s a ridiculous intro)
Seriously though, the television show is rapidly becoming a favorite of mine for a couple reasons.
1) just funny
2) just clever
Where else can you get references to Homer jumping the Springfield Gorge, Step-by-Step and the Oxygen network airing Good Fellas all in one place. NOWHERE and that’s why you should probably take the time to either watch, or more realistically TIVO (or is DVR the correct term? Doesn’t really matter to me as facial tissue by any manufacturer is still Kleenex or any copy machine I’m at I’m Zeroxing)
We here at Highdefguy.com watch a lot tv too; so starting soon there will be posts on tv shows in addition to television technology.
These posts won’t really be news, more impressions of shows that have recently been discovered. (Yes, probably some shows you’ve been watching for years, but we’ve only started watching).
Samsung has announced a blue ray high definition player resource:
http://pages.samsung.com/us/bluraysupport/
This site is split for two audiences. The have and have nots – meaning those that have a blue ray player and those of us still looking and waiting to take the plunge.
Pretty comprehensive, but serves as an introduction and some common questions get answered.
Getting ready to release another version of www.highdefguy.com that will include some definitions and more interactive features for the room.
Has any body used this? What did you think?
Now that there’s a winner in the high definition DVD format what does that mean for most of us that haven’t purchased a player yet.
There’s a good article by John P. Falcone at Crave/Cnet on what to look for when taking the plunge.
To sum it up, make sure that you understand what you are buying and why a player may be considerably cheaper than another.
I favor this resolution, while the initial cost difference of the HD-DVD would have been cheaper the increased viewing options and menu styling of the Blue-Ray makes up for that. It either does or will in the future have richer menu environments and options for all the extras we have come to know and love.
Enjoy and watch out for falling prices!
